Mavi is available for private and group instruction in the Washington DC area and beyond. She is currently booking local and national workshops and performance for fall 2009 – summer 2010.
Mavi’s instruction focuses on finding and channeling the dancer within yourself, and adding skills and tools to bring out your best.
Special instruction topics include fire performance & safety (fans & palms), balancing (you name it, single & tray candle work, blades, baskets and more), dark fusion belly dance, musical interpretation, building performances and more.

Drills, Skills & Thrills (2 hours) -Scare the drills, don’t let the drills scare you! Crush of traditional concept of drilling and unleash your inner strength with this special workshop with Mavi. We’ll explore the traditional drills, but take the right-left-right to the next level to make drilling fun and a journey into unleashing your personal style and power. Mavi will guide you through the process of traditional drills, hips to head, with a unique twist on the dark side to make them fun, dramatic and powerful enough to bring into performance. Skills for the Sensual Swordsmaster (2 hours) -Dance on the edge with Mavi, the maven of sword work. With individual instruction, friendly feedback, tips for crisp technique, and short sword combinations, this workshop offers something for all levels. Benefit from Mavi’s sword-obsession, as she offers guidance in choosing a sword, blade care, and safety. Explore the concepts of battle, seduction, mystery, and amusement, using the blade as both centerpiece and partner in your dance.
